Love Patriotism Hate Racism
At 50FIFTY we love flags, we love flag waving, we love celebrating football, rugby, cricket, The Olympics, Tiddlywinks... WHATEVER. We regret that the St George's Flag has been hijacked by the far right and think that EVERYONE should have the right to be proud of their country (or countries). Wearing a flag does not mean you are racist. Being a patriot and a racist are a million miles from each other. Prior to launching our Mixed Flag range we did lots of market research about the idea. 94% of the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. 4% of people were luke warm and 2% of people detested the concept. We spoke to lots of mixed race people who loved the idea of being able to show they were proud to be British AND Jamaican, Indian, Nigerian, Bangladeshi.
Many British people also loved the idea and bought Mixed Flag tshirts as they thought that the whole concept summed up Multicultural Britain; a tolerant, accepting society.
