| www.madebyyoungpeople.co.uk Lee, the founder of 50FIFTY has over 12 years experience of teaching, training and youth work. Five of those years have been in working in Alternative Provision with 14-19 year olds. He has worked with Connexions, Schools, EBD Providers, YIP's, YOT's, Looked After Children and has particular specialisms in working with "challenging" young people; this is possibly borne out of the fact the Lee himself was excluded from school six times in the last two years of his school days. Lee didn't let his negative experience of school hold him back. At 21 he graduated with a 2:1, and then gained a teaching qualification which enabled him to achieve a long held dream to live and work abroad for five years before returning home to work in Alternative Provision. Since then Lee has gained the Diploma in Youth and Community Work (JNC), a Counselling and a Mentoring qualification and has helped literally hundreds of socially excluded teenagers achieve academic success (usually for the first time). Lee worked in East London and inner city Birmingham where he delivered, coordinated and managed Alternative Education Projects for young people and trained informal educators before leaving council employment to start 50FIFTY. He has combined the above experience along with entrepreneurial expertise to design a range of Alternative Education Programmes that provide a real alternative education experience for young people.
