50FIFTY have designed a fantastic Black History Month Tshirt Design Workshop that educates and entertains. It is primarily aimed at Schools and Youth Groups, but could also be tweaked and delivered to any audience.
Where: We are flexible and can come to your school or youth club (we are based in Birmingham, but deliver workshops all over the country).
When: During Black History Month in October, but we can deliver at any time (even after BHM). A typical session lasts between 1 to 2 hours (we can fit around your needs)
What: Happens...its simple, we come to you, bring all the Tshirt making equipment. Then do a series of exercises which informs and educates participants about various influential Black Leaders. We encourage young people to get actively involved in the session learning kinaesthetically. Then young people choose the person they would most like on a Tshirt (we'll have lots preprinted), then hea tpress them onto their own garment. The idea is that they get a portrait photograph and a couple of paragraphs of text about the black leader. They then wear the Tshirt at home and in their community and the learning gets reinforced. Indeed, the idea is that parents, siblings and friends may even learn some interesting facts. If we have time - participants may even decorate their Tshirts or Hoodies with their own name or nickname.
What: Do you need? Nothing, we bring everything!!
Why? We want to excite all young people about Black History Month, we did some workshops last year that were a real success so we want to build on those successes this year.
Price: The cost is £350 which includes the first 10 Tshirts! If you have a large group that is no problem. We can bring more Tshirts and invoice you later. If your group prefer hoodies, then we can cater for them too.
